Nanxiang Steamed Buns
Remembering the Nanxiang steamed buns that we had at Cheng Huang Temple in Shanghai.. Ahh..
We got to know that Nanxiang opened its first branch in Dhoby Ghaut less than 2 months back. Since then, we promised to make a trip down to Plaza Singapura to have our steamed buns feast!
Dumplings. Lived up to expectatoin but nothing special to shout about.
Fried rice with braised duck. I loved the braised duck gravy the most. So yummy!
Vermicelli with crab roe. KC's favorite dish.
And finally, steamed buns. They definitely tasted better than the ones we had in Shanghai. We concluded that it could be because it was a take-away then :D

Chicken Hot Pot
Since I had just received my first paycheck from this new company, I said to KC that dinner was on me! The restaurant of his choice was.. Chicken Hot Pot (鸡公煲) at Level 4, Novena Square 2. Apparently, it is a franchise originated from Shanghai! They serve three types of base for its hot pot - chicken, beef and prawn. We ordered 2 small pots, chicken and prawn. You may also specify your preferred level of spiciness. We went for the medium level and it was still acceptable. I guess we could go one more level up next time! :D
Espresso Frappe
Yesterday, we patronized the Starbucks at Wisma Atria, Orchard after dinner to try their latest brew - Espresso Frappuccino.
Our espresso stays roasty even when it's cold
So true! Espresso is usually served hot but Starbucks is serving it as frappuccino this time. The frappe tasted a bit sweet for me. Still, it brings out the roasty flavor of the espresso, poured over shaved ice.
Indian Food Marathon
Yup, Indian food for the past three days at work!
During the past three days, we had two events to observe - a colleague, who will be leaving us end of this week and a Malaysian colleague, who came over to our Singapore plant for a three-day knowledge transfer session.

Two good Indian restaurants - The Prata Place and Shami Banana Leaf Delights. Bottom left - the colleague who will be leaving us, top right - my best buddy in the company, bottom right - Mr. project manager and the Malaysian colleague.
Although it was the first time I had nasi briyani, I think Shami Banana Leaf Delights has the best nasi briyani. Yummy! It was my second time at The Prata Place. The first time was also because of a farewell for another colleague. I think people who love prata should really try the pratas there. We ordered mutton (M-size), chicken (M-size) and vegetable (XL-size) murtabaks. Yup, they have small, medium and extra-large sizes for their murtabaks. An XL-size murtabak is roughly 1m2 big. Haha. Huge, isn't it? Each of us ordered our individual pratas too. I ordered a chocolate prata! And got teased by my boss!
"Eh.. Only kids would order chocolate prata."
But, it tasted really good! So, so, so crispy!
A gift from heaven
I arrived at the train station at 7 plus this morning. The train was delayed for at least one hour the night before. Before that, I had to queue at both Woodlands and Johor Bahru checkpoints for almost 2 hours in total. It was the most tiring Singapore-KL trip I've experienced! Hence, I slept through most of the hours after reaching home.
Mom cooked yummy lunch for me. And for dinner, my family and I went to Susan's Bistro at Sg. Long for an advance Birthday dinner for ME! Susan's Bistro serves Italianese food. We ordered fish and chips, chicken cordon, salmon steak, pizza, carbonara pasta, etc. We were all stuffed and could hardly walk to the car.
I received a string of surprises from my family. Look! A cute handmade birthday card from my cute brother, a lovely ring from my Ma cha (I have been complaining that my ring doesn't fit me anymore, that it's getting looser and looser) and an mp3 walkman from both sisters.
I love them, the gifts and my family! :D :D
