Fun-filled Halloween Day
Happy Halloween!
I had planned to visit Punggol Beach and Chinese Garden today. It was a day filled with unplanned and unorganised activities and to top it up, I was late this morning. I was supposed to organise the activities today but I was very busy with deadlines at work and had forgotten to check the directions to Punggol Beach. Hence, KC and I ended up with ad-hoc plans and follow-our-instincts routes.
Instead of Punggol Beach, we arrived at Punggol Jetty. The place was so deserted. We were surprised that we could still catch a bus there. There were a couple of families and some hobbyists fishing when we arrived at the jetty. We spent less than half an hour at the jetty.
After Punggol Jetty, we decided to head to Holland Village. The village presents suburban living of Singapore. We are supposed to be able to find many handicraft shops and lifestyle boutiques, but all we saw was some well-known international eateries such as Coffee Bean, Sushi Tei, Coffee Club and Crystal Jade Restaurant.
By the time we finished touring Holland Village, our legs could not take it anymore. We decided go back to Orchard Road to look for a place to rest because in less than 2 hours, we would need to head back to Holland Village for dinner with Hiew Ming. She was in Singapore with her friend today!

Spotted this Coffee Bean guy at Orchard Central while we were searching for free sofas to sit and rest
Dinner with Hiew Ming and her friend was at Holland Drive Blk 46. She recommended that we settle at the Big D's Grill located at the basement of the flat. The food was not bad. We ordered Kurabuta Pork Loin (Hiew Ming's and friend's) and Boneless Chicken Leg (KC's and mine). We also ordered a single person's XO Fish Head Noodle from another stall there. We ate, chat, laughed and waited for the rain to stop.
That's the end of a 12-hour outing on Halloween Day. So so so tired.
Also, Happy 21st Birthday to my sister, Pei Ling, who is busy entertaining her friends now :p
The Reunion
We managed to meet up for breakfast this morning and had a short chat. The last time we met was more than 2 months ago. She is none other than Hiew Ming, my ex-colleague, ex-supervisor, good friend cum big sister!
Well, maybe it's not really a short chat because when I reached home after the breakfast, Mom asked: You ladies just sat at the Mamak for 2 hours?
Yeah. And I really enjoyed the conversation. It was great to listen to many of the news update from her and me, sharing my stories since I departed to Singapore 2 months back. I was very delighted to receive this gift from her..

The synopsis: This is the magical story of Santiago, a shepherd boy who dreams of travelling the world to seek the most wonderful treasures known to a man. From his home in Spain, he journeys to the markets of Tangiers and, from there, into the Egyptian desert, where a fateful encounter with the alchemist awaits him...
Reading ain't my hobby since forever and she knows it :-) Actually.. there is always an exception, as long as the title catches my interest. It is a travelogue book of some sort. And the destination in the story is.. EGYPT!! The place that I have always been dreaming to visit someday. Why Egypt, some of you may ask. I love visiting relaxing and quiet places, like seaside and resorts but I am a big fan of architecture. I enjoy visiting places with mysterious stories to tell. If I was to choose between resorts and deserts, I would pick the latter :-) Besides Egypt, I wish I would have the opportunity to visit South Africa someday. Other than the big big attraction which is their safari, I have the urge to visit the less fortunate Africans and lend a helping hand. Well, ummm, maybe for a week or so? :D
End of story!
Lastly,.. this is to fulfill my promise to Miss Tan. Haha.
4D3N Vacation
Thanks to the Raya season, I have been granted a 4-days 3-nights vacation! I've never had a longer holiday than this one since my last Cambodia trip (I think). Upon reaching KL in the wee hours of the morning on Saturday, I told mom that I was craving for nasi lemak. She brought Pei Yee and I to a mamak nearby our house. It was 5 plus when we reached there. To my disappointment, they did not have nasi lemak.
After breakfast, I took a short nap and later rushed to Mid Valley to meet my dear friend, Ying Ying. She was there with her nicely packed Mille Crepe, waiting at the cinema entrance already. She had earlier mentioned that she would bake a Mille Crepe for me and she chose to bake a different flavor this time, Cheese Flavored Mille Crepe. We watched UP. Thank god they were still playing the movie. I thought I would have to miss this movie since it has been showing for quite some time already. Next, I went shopping alone in the mall. I was on a quest to search for a nice home for D-zai but I just could not find one.
On Sunday morning, I had to crawl out of bed at about 5:45 AM. My brother and I accompanied Mom and our uncle and aunts to perform some religious virtues. When things were finally done, I told my brother that I wanted to try my luck at Lowyat Plaza. To my surprise, he said he would accompany me there. I couldn't remember when was the last time I went shopping with my brother, I mean, just the two of us. We walked for at least 3 hours plus inside Lowyat Plaza and Sungei Wang without buying anything. He knows I am such a fussy person when it comes to shopping. I would spend weeks, going in and out of malls to find the backpack of my choice or a pair of shoes that I like. I really appreciate his patience with me hehe.
It was another early day on Monday. We woke up at 6:30 AM and departed to the market in Semenyih to meet Mom's friend before we embarked on our journey to Morib! The journey to Morib was not a long one. I had little to expect prior to the trip. People often say Morib beach is polluted. However, it is not like what I've heard. I was awed. The beach was clean and the sea water was okayy. However, the restrooms were ewww.. We spent about 2 hours at the beach. Next, we had seafood for lunch. I guess that is a must-have there. We ordered sotong, butter prawn, fish, fishball soup and la-la.
That was supposed to be the end of our half-day Raya trip but we decided to stop by at the famous Lover's Bridge at Tanjung Sepat. The sea view was very fascinating. I could not imagine how beautiful it would be during sunset. Wish I would have the chance to frequent that place another time to enjoy the sunset.
Photographs appreciation time!
P/s: Lots of photos to be posted this time hehe. Hope I have enough bandwidth to support this :D
