Voices from within

New Phase?

It has been a week since I had reported to work at this new company. Things have been going quite okay if you look at it from the work perspective, it's just that.

I see that my work revolves around Microsoft Excel, Visio and Word nowadays. How boring! I would have to spend hours studying a document and think of how things should be done. The toughest part would be how to convey all these to my fellow developer colleagues. They are pure Chinese guys! But look at it from the other side, this is supposed to be the next step in my career ladder. On my first day, the project manager briefed me on this ongoing project and stated that I would be involved in requirements gathering and analysis as well as the design sections. Honestly, this is a bit more than what I had expected because I was tested more on the development side during the interview. I sat for a while and thought to myself. Am I ready for all these?

Apart from these new things that I will have to cope and learn, I now know many new Chinese words! For e.g. database, database tables, columns, source codes, document and etc. Haha.
