090909
This blog post was supposed to be published more than an hour ago.
I was composing a very dull post about how 9th Sept, 2009 is just another normal day for me but how special could this day be for many people around the world. This goes to couples who have chosen this day to tie the knot, people who vowed to start (or restart) their diet plans today or even people who have decided to set a resolution for themselves to achieve, beginning from today. For me? No resolutions, no plans, no nothing but I am grateful for one thing, that I am still surviving the hustle bustle of city life and all. Whatever reason it is for you to celebrate this day, Happy 090909 to all of you!
So that was the first version of my blog post.
While composing that original post above, my phone rang. He is the usual person who would call me every night when he reaches home after our dinner. We would talk a bit and then go to bed. Today, he stressed that he called at 9:45 PM sharp (it would make five 9s), I argued it was 9:43 PM for me. Then, he requested me to do him a favour by checking what's inside a box (1).
It was a box which he had left in my room before we left for dinner earlier. During dinner, he explained that the box belongs to his friend and that his friend was going to meet his girlfriend and it would be so inconvenient to bring the box along (2). I was looking very tired today. He said he was tired too and that he hoped he could go home at 9:00 PM and rest early today (3). Hence, we had a short dinner and bid goodbye.
Okay, back to the box. It was wrapped with four bags; three plastic bags and one recycled bag. I triple confirmed with him if I should open the bags. When I finally saw the box and got to know what's happening, I could not respond at all. I was numbed, for a few seconds.
Guess what I've found?

So.. statements #1, 2 and 3, quoted above were lies hehe.
Ahhhhhhh...
This is the item that I have been dreaming to own since more than three years ago but there was always something more important for me to spend on. I had even gotten Pei Yee to agree to co-own a DSLR with me. Now the gadget is right in front of me, in my arms. Ahhh...
He had wanted to surprise me on my birthday this year but said he could not wait as there are too many events happening in Singapore starting from next few weekends towards the end of the year. He wanted me to be able to capture all these events with the D5000. To top it up, he had previously marked 23rd Sept on my calendar, as "Not Free!". I couldn't get him to tell me what would happen that day. I now know that he had signed me up for a 2-hour "Nikon D5000 Workshop"!
Our first outing with this new-kid-on-the-block would be the Singapore F1 event! I am so so so excited now.
Oh, and I was in an online conversation with Pei Ling while I was on the phone, right after I found out what happened. Here goes:-

Thank you, xxx xxx! You have made 090909 a day for me to remember.
Hehe, he shall be officially called, D-zai, my new baby!
What’s your say?
New theme, new blog header, all thanks to Pei Yee!
Okay... anyone with any graphics designer job to offer, please drop me a comment. Haha.
